Manager R&D Denim Fabrics and Trimmings (m/f/d)
HUGO BOSS AG | Metzingen near Stuttgart | Germany | Full-time/Part-time

 

To strengthen our Product Development Denim team we are looking for a Manager R&D Fabrics and Trimmings (m/f/d).

 

What you can expect:
  • Responsible for Research & Development of fabrics and trimmings related to Denim, considering collection briefings, market requirements, minimum quantities, quality requirements and lead times
  • Maintains the Fabric Menu, Fabric Library and coordinates Fabric Mill Weeks
  • Proactive research of innovation and trends, new technologies, washes and sustainable options
  • Manage capsules and programs execution within R&D
  • Establishes and maintains fabric standards for all materials to include testing and evaluation protocols
  • Responsible for trim supplier management, including price negotiations, 3D data management, material counter sourcings
  • Sampling orders and monitoring  fabrics and trimmings that need to be cost engineered, follow-through
  • Supporting on developing a seasonal fabric and wash lineplan 
  • Ensure that sustainability is a key priority and reflected in materials development
  • Responsible for PLM/ SAP data maintenance and data monitoring related to developed fabrics & trimmings
  • Strong collaboration and follow-through with interfaces, e.g. Technical Development, Materials Management, Buying, Production, Global Sustainability, Quality Departments
  • Proactive benchmark of competitors materials, trends and innovations. Fair attendance and supplier visits on a regular base
Your profile:
  • Bachelor degree in technical fashion management or equivalent from recognized academic institution
  • Min. 2 years experience as denim fabric & trim developer
  • Strong passion for Denim and fashion sense combined with a passion for innovative product and sustainability
  • Proven ability to anticipate operational issues and develop preventative measures
  • Basic knowledge of 3D materials visualization considered a plus
  • Proven ability to take decisions across geographies in a matrix environment where speed is crucial
  • Responsible, proactive, capable of performing under pressure and adaptable to shifting priorities and timelines
  • Open-minded, intercultural competent and a confident communicator liaising at all levels
  • Good IT skills (Outlook, MS Office, PLM/SAP)
  • Excellent english communication skills
